A tremendous effort went into the placement and delivery of our campaign signs, and it certainly shows! Over 250 two-sided Harris/Walz yard signs and 45 large 4’ x 6’ highway signs have been proudly displayed in the yards and along the fences of courageous Fayette County Democratic Party supporters. Thank you for your hard work and dedication—together, we’re making our voices heard!
What an incredible sight! A heartfelt thank you to Kirk Pate and his team for making this vibrant display of blue possible. Your hard work and dedication are truly appreciated. Well done!
DEMOCRATIC NEIGHBORS LUNCHEON, THIS THURSDAY:
Join us for the Democratic Neighbors Luncheon on Thursday, October 17th, at 11:30 AM, at La Marina Mexican Restaurant, 1502 St Hwy 71, La Grange. Let’s come together to share in our collective nail-biting and breath-holding as we navigate the election anxiety we’re all feeling!
GETTING OUT THE VOTE!
We’re in full swing with texting, phone calls, door knocking, and running ads in the local press. Our team is dedicated to getting out the vote for Democrats here in Fayette County!
However, we do wish the guy on the right could be part our FCDP Virtual Phone Bank team!
And… (drumroll, please) get ready to feast your eyes on our Harris/Walz billboard, proudly located next to the Kubota Tractor dealership on Hwy 71, just west of La Grange. We’ve been told it’ll be up today, Monday—keep your eyes peeled!
A heartfelt thanks to our amazing FCDP donors and volunteers! Your support makes all our “Get Out The Vote” efforts possible. We truly appreciate you—love you all!
What is YOUR plan to vote? It’s time to make it count!
REGISTERING TO VOTE - If you haven’t already registered to vote, then, I’m sorry, but it is too late for this election. But don’t just throw up your hands – go register for the next election cycle. Don’t wait – do it NOW!
VOTER REGISTRATION “SUSPENSE” LIST - If you are registered to vote but you have changed your address or you got married, for example, you may be in the “Suspense” list with the Texas Secretary of State. Don’t let that stop you from voting - just be prepared! Be sure to bring to the polls your Driver’s License along with a form of documentation that clarifies your current address or name change. (See the accepted ID List & Forms of Documentation below). You should also be prepared to take a little longer to vote and know that you may need to vote “Provisionally”. That does not mean your vote won’t count - just that our elections folks will have to check your details before your ballot is counted. My suggestion is to Vote Early at the Fayette Co Elections Office (275 Ellinger Rd, La Grange) since Terri and her staff are the experts in getting this sorted for you. Early voting starts October 21st through November 1st, see times below.
MAIL IN BALLOTS - Remember, there are only 3 weeks until Nov 5th, so what should you do?
1. If you have received a request to apply for an Application to Vote by Mail, but have not sent it in, it must be received by your Elections Office by Oct 25th, not just postmarked by that date. But keep in mind that you will still need to receive your Ballot, fill it in, and get it postmarked by Nov 5th. Alternatively, you can vote in person.
2. If you have received your Mail in Ballot already, fill it in and send it in NOW to avoid any US Post Office delays. Or you could take it with you if you decide you want to vote in person and exchange it for an in-person Ballot.
3. If you have applied for a Mail in Ballot but haven’t received it, then you need to wait until it arrives before you can do anything. Hopefully it arrives in the next couple of days and you can fill it out and mail it in with plenty of time for the US Postal Service to deliver to the Elections Office. But if it takes a while to arrive, once it does, you might consider voting in person, depending on the time remaining until Nov 5th. Remember, when you vote in person, bring your Mail in Ballot with you so you can make the exchange! If you do have concerns, contact Terri and staff at the Fayette Co Elections Office, 979-968-6563.
VOTING IN PERSON – The options are to Vote Early, lots of available times and few lines, or vote on Nov 5th. The only difference is that Early Voting takes place in the Fayette County Elections Office and voting on Nov 5th takes place in your precinct’s polling place. Either way, we’ve got you covered with full details below!
